To kick off this year, we've implemented Text for Directions from our Directory software, created a NEW Retail SDK, and automated path creation for users of the Mappedin CMS.
We have had a busy start to 2019! During Q1, we exhibited at the NRF Big Show in New York and the Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, attended the HIMSS Conference in Orlando, started working with exciting new customers, and have continued to develop products and features that enhance our digital offering for map management and wayfinding.
This newsletter is meant to keep you updated on what we’ve been up to. As always, we welcome any feedback that could further improve your reading experience.

What's new?
Text for Directions - At the end of 2018, we released Mobile Pass, a way to take directions on-the-go from kiosk to mobile phones by scanning a QR code and we’ve now added a second option! Through an integration with Kipsu, users can now enter their phone number as a way to receive mobile directions. Watch our product in action here.
What's new?
Retail App - Our new Retail App for picking and packing allows users to create shopping lists, view the interactive map, and populate the most efficient route throughout the store. Learn more about our solutions for retail here.
What's new?
Blue Dot Experience - Users can now enjoy the familiar blue dot experience on their mobile phones for indoor venues! Available for selected venues on iOS devices running Mappedin Web, users can see their location within the venue and watch their position update as they navigate the space.
Mini Maps - Our customers can embed mini maps on store detail pages. This allows users to see surrounding locations at a quick glance and when selected, users are taken to the full venue map with the store highlighted, allowing users to search for directions to or from a second location.
What's new?
Automated Pathing & Nodes - In the past, pathing a venue from scratch was a lengthy process. With our new auto-pathing algorithm, we are able to quickly generate a complex path network for new venues in half the time - with a fraction of the manual effort! The larger the property or portfolio, the more time savings. This allows us to onboard new venues quickly, in turn enabling us to map even more of the indoors.
Over the past three months, we’ve implemented maps and wayfinding at some exciting new locations!
Hudson Yards, New York - Hudson Yards is New York’s newest neighbourhood, totalling 18 million square feet of commercial and residential space. The space features over 100 shops and restaurants, an office space, hotel, public art and cultural pieces, and 14 acres of public plazas, gardens and groves.
McArthurGlen, Europe - McArthurGlen owns and operates 24 designer shopping centres across nine countries including France, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The centres bring in over 90 million visitors each year.
Sonae Sierra, Europe - Sonae Sierra owns and operates 42 retail real estate properties across Europe and South America. Mappedin now powers the wayfinding for 33 properties across Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Romania.
Vicinity Centres, Australia - Vicinity is one of Australia’s leading retail property groups with $26 billion in retail assets across 66 shopping centres.
Miami Design District, Miami - Miami Design District is a neighbourhood in the south of Florida that is dedicated to innovative fashion, design, architecture, and dining experiences.
What's happened?
NRF Retail’s Big Show - In January, Mappedin exhibited for the first time at the NRF Big Show. We’ve been attending this show for years and decided it made sense to show off our products to everyone in the retail space. Specifically, we showed off our Picking and Packing app designed for retail associates to use while picking a large online order. This app enables associates to pull a shopping list and view the most efficient route to pick those products, accounting for refrigerated items to be picked last. The show was a great success full of meaningful conversations with retailers and better understanding the challenges they face daily.
Digital Signage Expo - At the end of March, we exhibited at DSE in Las Vegas, showcasing our Digital Directory solution along with Mappedin Web and CMS. We were first time exhibitors at the show in 2018 and it was exciting to go back, exhibit in a larger booth, and showcase more of our offerings. We spent a lot of our time with existing and potential partners, discussing how to work together and integrate to provide robust digital solutions to end customers.
This quarter's focus was on a NEW map dashboard and easy-to-follow tooltips within the CMS, improved display of location hours, and a more accurate blue dot experience on Mappedin Web....
