What have we been up to in 2021? Well so far this year, Mappedin has been focused on enhancing our already best-in-class mapping applications, investing in new industries, and supporting a safe return to work. We’ve released our SDK V3, onboarded customers to our Responsive Web App V2, are trialing features to make map management even more efficient, and so much more.

Mappedin Update - Q2 2021

This blog will focus on our work over the past quarter as we released new products, worked on exciting new features, and continued to expand our solutions to new industries and geographies. Contact us today to learn more.

New releases

Mapping SDKs

V3 Production Releases 3.0.0+: Mappedin customers can now enjoy V3 Production Releases of all SDKs, including Web, React Native, Android, and iOS. Updated API documentation, and Sample Apps can be found on our Developer Portal, with ongoing release notes available on the Developer Blog.

Custom Markers: Create your own custom location marker to highlight the most relevant information for users. This can include capacity limits, location images, amenities, and more. Custom markers are available on React Native, Android, and iOS SDKs.

Multi-Destination Support: Mappedin SDKs now include the ability for users to plan a route with multiple stops. This gives users the ability to add various points of interest and see the most efficient route through the venue.

Customized Styling for Smart Labels: Customers using our Mapping SDKs can customize the styling of Smart Labels on their venue maps. Alter the appearance of the marker or text label by customizing size, colour, and stroke, as shown below.

Pre-Built Applications

Responsive Web App V2: This quarter, we launched the Web App V2 with an improved user experience and great new features including Galleries, Deals, Top Locations, Blue Dot, and Multi-Destination Wayfinding.

Why should I upgrade to Web V2?

  • Fresh, updated design

  • Access to new features

  • Compliant with WCAG AA

  • Consistent experience between Web V2 and Directory solutions

  • Improvements to in-app navigation and organization of content

How can I upgrade to Web V2?

  • Reach out to your Customer Success Manager or if you are not a current customer, contact us today for a free demo

  • Choose your theme customizations

  • Test the new product on a staging website (optional)

  • Replace the existing map on your website with a new Web V2 code snippet

  • Please note:

    • A new code is required for each venue

    • Web V2 is designed to be unaffected by your website’s CSS styling

RTL Support: As part of our commitment to continually invest in localization and global expansion, Mappedin Directories and our Responsive Web App V2 now both support new languages with a Right-to-Left (RTL) user interface.

Map Editor

CAD Import Feature: Over the past quarter, we’ve been working on an exciting new feature for our Map Editor. Currently being piloted, our CAD Importer provides new efficiencies to maintaining your indoor venue maps. With the click of a button, this feature imports all geometry included in your CAD file in order to generate a copy of your building in the Map Editor. Additionally, any location IDs associated with geometries are imported and assigned within our platform.

We will continue to keep you updated as we work to make this feature readily available for our customers.

This chatbot is linked with Mappedin’s digital map to provide guests an end-to-end experience.
